Road and Recreation Association - Broadband Committee
The GVM Broadband Committee was established on May 17, 2017 as Special Committee to the Road and Recreation ("R&R") Board. It is a Special Committee as defined by the Association By-laws Article 10.2 with specific objectives defined by this charter, and dissolved when the objectives are accomplished. Membership is open to any GVM member in good standing. Meetings are event-driven and scheduled by the committee chair. The committee chair is a volunteer position and selected by vote of the R&R board.
Goals
- decrease costs and increase reliability, bandwidth, and accessibility to broadband internet for GVM members with residences
- remove objection/obstacle for guests and family visitors
- provide higher quality and more reliable voice communications using microcell/hotspot technologies
- improve and protect property values by removing a current high concern of potential buyers
- enrich the quality of life through social media, video conferencing (Facetime, Skype) for staying connected, streamed content, voice over internet, and the many other benefits of the internet
- accomplish more through collaboration and collective power than by doing it as individuals
